One of my favorite features of Firefox is Livebookmarks. I would assume that most of the techies here use them already but for those of you who dont they are really cool. What live bookmarks consists of is a built in RSS reader that adds the post titles to your books marks or conveinently docks on t...

I like the new site Jeff. Very clean. Although the forum icons look pretty bad because it seems that they have like a 1 pixel white border, but I am sure that you are working on this one.

I am going to Madison per usual. Party with some old friends, probebly make some new ones (at least for one night). I might go with some buddies from Menomonie and dress up as the Beatles, or with some buddies from Madison and dress as the "Girls Gone Wild" crew, or I might just wing it....either wa...

DVD X copy will do it. Its cake to use and splits everything automatically. I would however suggest buying a DVD burner. I copy dual layer media to a single disc and have tested them on everything from a 19 inch Sony TV to a 62 inch Toshiba DLP projection TV (yeah I get to play around with some cool...

Off exacy topic but my buddy at work is currently alpha testing a new MSN client named iRUNGE. Other than naming it after me (always a big plus in my book) it is a really nice app written completely in C# and takes up a minamal ammount of desktop space. Ill let you all know when a downloadable versi...

You do see it but not that often. I think this is because far less people own Macs. I dont know the numbers but I think you would find roughly the same ratio of people using Linux on Macs as you see Linux on a PC. Yellowdog Linux is very popular amongst Mac users and I know that most of the major di...

I also use AMD products because they are cheap and perform well. I have seen people bicker back and forth about temperatures as well but at this point in the game I think we can all shell out a few extra bucks for a nice fan that pretty much nixes that argument. The chips actually do function quite ...

I went Nintendo all the way. Over the years they have set the standard for innovative and solid game design. I would have chosen Squaresoft but they really only defined one genre of gaming where Nintendo has done so much. I also have to add that Squaresoft WAS a great company where SquareEnix has di...

Sure. I will list the most common ones that I use. Touch: creates a file Man 'name of program': will load the manual page if there is one ls: list contents ps: list processes. Use preferably ps -ax, you can then pipe it through grep to look for particular strings. Ex. ps -ax | grep konqeror top: lis...

Yeah that would be 2.4.x. I dont know about mapping it to other devices. My mouse is just automatically detected and works without any of that shit. You can download the newest kernel from kernel.org with a text based web browser like lynx or links. Then to re-compile your kernel just: 1. download t...

I agree. Everything google touches turns to gold. They are using Mozilla as a base. They already found a security hole and reported it to Mozilla. If only google could create a browser that would also replace explorer for my file managing I would be most impressed.

I had some problems with my mouse as well. For starters what kernel are you running? I would reccomend using the newest 2.6 kernel if you are not. Other than that I had some problems with my USB mouse. I had to play around with what I compiled into the kernel and what I chose to be modules. It shoul...

Kopete is cool. If you like desktop modifications/eyecandy check out SuperKaramba and head over to kde-look.org for wallpaper/icons, whatever. kde-apps.org doesnt have much but its an OK site for applications, I use a program called Kmymoney2 to organize my finances, it works really well.
