Big 2

Postby Jeff » 2004.04.12 2:00 am

Remember the movie Big, where a 13 year old kid woke up as Tom Hanks? They're apparently trying to redo it with Jennifer Garner, only it has some Flight of the Navigator (remember that movie and win a prize!) elements to it as well.
I wanted to dismiss it as trash, but it used Green Day's Church on Sunday in the trailer. How can I resist that?

I thought those previews seemed like a rip-off.

I don't care if they use good music, they shit on a classic film.

Movies that use unoriginal plots, switch cartoons to real life, or star Ben Alfleck are all shit.
I'd piss Coors if I could. You believe that happy crappy?

I agree with Red except for the Ben Affleck thing. He has some good movies. . .

Okay, I guess I agree with Red about the Ben Affleck thing.

The guy's early films didn't bug me, but it just got worse. He shouldn't have took the role in Daredevil, he's just not the type. He helped destroy what should have been a 90% historical movie in Pearl Harbor, and who can forget Gigli? In his defense, J-lo is probably the main reason that film flopped, but real-life couples that portray two people who eventually get each other? It just seems too fake.

I'd rip on him for that new film he's in, but Carlin's in it. The film might suck, but Carlin's the shit.

yeah, carlin and liv tyler. she's good.

I think affleck's best role was in mallrats, because he didnt say much of anything. actually, he's ok in most kevin smith projects. this is why i have high hopes for Jersey Girl, even though it's a departure for smith. but big fish was a departure for burton, and I liked that...

i have very disconnected thoughts today.

fire!

Mallrats was good, but his best work was Dazed and Confused. He does a good job when he wants to play an asshole. He should do it more often.

I actually just watched 13 going on 30. It was on the campus movie channel. It actually wasn't a bad movie at all. I'm kinda shocked.
