Expensive Games

Postby Jeff » 2004.11.09 3:06 pm

I'm probably the only person in the world who could pay $10 for Halo 2 and still feel ripped off.
It's got nothing to do with the game itself. It looks standard fare for a console shooter; nothing special, but not bad or anything. No, I bought the chance to rip it to my Xbox from Mike, only to have my rooommate show up later with his own game that I could have copied for free. And since he's one of the most selfless people I know, after copying the game to his Xbox, he actually gave it away to Ryan (who we think may like Halo a bit).
Oh well. It's the most expensive Xbox game I've ever bought, but it might be fun once I get a mouse.
I do what I can.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine shelling out more than that for a game anymore. It's also sick to think that that used to be the average price of an NES game. :)

I wish we had an EBGames closer by. I could cash in a bunch of my older games for lesser prices on newer games. I love EBGames. They really have no respect for street dates either, they released HL2 about 3 days ago when the date is supposed to be the 16th, this tuesday. It doesn't matter either, silly ol' VALVe made the game to where you have to play through a content server (which are lockable and unlockable). This means time you play you have to register it online, after that it doesn't matter, the content servers reconize your ID ticket. Pretty nifty stuff.

Technically no. It's been pushed back to around spring time until I can get my license, which blows. I can always rely on good ol' Cody though. :)

I put down 40.95 on it for the gold package but that's also because I had the ATi voucher :)

I got ahead in school and took the day off tomorrow. I can stay up at 2:00 A.M. to play it. Go me.

EDIT: My desktop rocks. I made it with a workable counter that counts down until the exact release time. (yes the counter does work) It's a .gif so the resolution is all fubared, but no matter.

Oh my god. I just got down playing a quarter of Half-Life 2. I may need to change my underwear. It can't really be explained how good this game is. It was worth the weight x10. The first 2 minutes and your thrown into crowbar weilding action!

Anyways, I am starving and need some food, and then back to playing.

Jeremy's getting it today -- if he ever wakes up. You could check out his copy.
