Diablo 3

I'm curious if anyone else will be purchasing this gem, I would like to do a run through on multiplayer right away.

I have yet to play either of its predecessors. I fear it'll absorb me, much like its sister WoW once did.

You are right to fear that as that is exactly what would happen.

I will of course be buying this beautiful piece of software.

I've recently had my 7th knee surgery needless to say I can't do much, I've blown through diablo 2 and I'm almost done with the expansion in a matter of 7 days. Red would you join me in multiplayer right away or do you have other plans for diablo 3?

I would probably solo for a little bit just until I get a feel for the new game. After that count me in.

What character you going with? Still on the wizard?

I've blown through Diablo 2 as the barb, incredibly faster than any other character I've been. For multiplayer though since I know how fond of the barb you are, I think I'll go with the wizard can't hurt having magic on our side as well as brute strength and the ability to smash anything in our path.

Or the power of 2 barbs. Pick whatever character you want - we'll be able to kick ass either way.

If you're gonna go with magic you should try the Witch Doctor instead. I might do one of those on the side after I make my main character. They look bad ass.

Joe Moehr said he's buying it also, and going with the Monk. I'm gonna see if I can get him back on the forums.

I was thinking that I'll do the barb for my solo game than the wizard for multiplayer, I'll have to look at every character ill watch videos on them all and make my final decsion.

I prebought it from Amazon so it has to ship. I'm cheap so I didn't go with the fast shipping. It should deliver around a week after the release.

On a sidenote I beat the expansion with my barb last night. Baal was easy but Diablo was still a bitch in Act 4. I get to do the cow level now. Sweet.

Considering an active internet connection is required for this game to even run, why are they even bothering with retail boxes? Why not just digital downloads that magically work when their arbitrary countdown reaches zero?

I had a difficult time with Tal Rasha mainly because i got pinned in a corner and proceeded to die there, of course it was a pain in my mother fucking ass to get to my body. I went into hulk smash mode, broke a couple things around the house and had had a unhappy wife ooppps. Fuck you Tal Rasha.

Jeff - That's one feature they left out of Diablo 1 & 2. I'm sad to see they incorporated it into the latest release. What a fucking waste of a box, time and effort. Starcraft II pulled the same shit which pissed me off. I hate it that games do that now. If I get the legit versions of games I shouldn't have to be online just to play them.

Son - I'm wondering if they've changed how it works when your character dies. I would always die countless times trying to retrieve my body since I had no gear and was an easy target. If I remember correctly you could save your game, exit it and come back and your body would be in town, minus the gold you had on you. My guess would be they changed it - but to what is the question.

Red I've watched a couple videos online about dying in the game and I don't understand it, keep in mind it was from the beta but it looked like you had archive your character. Not one video I watched did the person ever run back to there mangled up corpse.

Good to know they at least changed it somehow. I always hated that.

By the way did you notice you can reset your stats? In Act 1 after the first quest the broad that gave you the quest gives you the option. Apparently you can do it once per difficulty. They must have added that on one of the more recent patches.

Went thru the Cow Level this morning. I love that level.

I did notice that, never used it though. With the barb I like to keep my strength up, much easier to beat the living piss out of everyone. Only two more days and my life will be filled with hot pockets and red bull, sounds healthy.

It might not have made a difference if your internet hadn't gone out. From what I'm reading so far Blizzard's servers are overloaded and games aren't loading. Even single player games because you still have to be online. Nice work Blizzard...way to fuck up a game release 10 years in the making.

I'm hoping by the time it delivers to me they'll have some of this shite worked out.

I believe you need to be online and log in to battle.net, even if you're playing single player. At least that's the impression I'm under. It would explain the very scathing reviews I've been reading.

The servers weren't down - just slow. I would definitely try, and keep trying if you don't get in.

Good call on switching. Anything is better than Charter.

I had to go by my mothers to use her Internet. Took a good hour to install, now the servers are full so I'm waiting very impatiently to get into my damn game. Direct tv gave me a hell of deal I couldn't turn it down, two hd DVR boxes and 12 mb Internet for 65 bones, less than my charter bill and way better equipment.
